College-Prep: Research College Majors Now!

We here at Edu4U always say that it is never too early to start researching your options for college majors. Some students may already have a definite idea of the field they would like to pursue. Others may not be as confident. Either way, we recommend that you start looking into what possibilities are out there.

College Board offers a great tool on its website for researching college majors. You can search for nearly any major and find a description of the major, along with advice on how to prepare and search for the right, relevant colleges.

Curious about what it would take to become a teacher? A biomedical engineer? An environmental scientist? Check out their information on careers, including the education you will need, the work life you can expect, and other factors you may want to consider.

Additionally, you also want to take into consideration the fact that not all majors are created equal -- indeed, many majors are incredibly flexible. This article, by Kate Lorenz of CareerBuilder.com, shows us that majors are not necessarily restrictive. Finance majors do not have to pursue Wall Street, and art majors are not destined to become "starving artists". Read through the article... and be inspired!

Happy researching!
